The University of Gujrat was established in 2004 and has grown quickly into the principal university of northern Punjab's Gujrat region. Its Hafiz Hayat Campus hosts faculties in engineering and technology, computing, sciences, arts, management and social sciences, and the university runs sub-campuses in Sialkot and Narowal along with a constituent medical college.
